Welcome to Christopher Place
The Speech, Language and Hearing Centre at Christopher Place is for babies and children under five who have hearing impairment, delay in speech, language and communication or more complex needs.
Over the past 17 years, we’ve earned an outstanding reputation for developing innovative therapy programmes that really make a difference to a child’s life.
You’ll find everyone at Christopher Place friendly and caring, with an effective service and a positive ‘can do’ approach. Our aim is to develop the whole child, so that your son or daughter can learn new skills and communicate with confidence.
Your child will receive a unique combination of nursery education and therapy, provided by a highly trained team of speech and language therapists, auditory verbal therapists, occupational therapists, specialist teachers and a chartered psychologist. A close partnership with the whole family is central to our approach, as we believe it’s key to our success in building children’s communication skills and their self esteem.
The only one of its kind in the UK, the Centre opened in 1995 and is a registered charity.

The Nurturing Programme
This 10-week Programme will begin 7th May 2013 running every Tuesday from 13.30 – 15.30.
This course looks at family life and structure and understands that children are rewarding, stimulating and fun, but looking after them can be stressful and challenging.
The Nurturing Programme helps us deal with some of these challenges so you have a calmer, happier family life, through a tried and tested programme. It helps us think about what we do, why we do it and how it makes us feel.
